Purpose, material, and presence.
We approached the table as a shared landscape, pairing a calm oak plane with a dark inlay that guides the eye across it. The trestles, inlay and generous proportion were balanced to support long meals without visual excess.

With a little attention, the surface will continue to deepen gracefully over time.
Dust with a soft dry cloth and wipe spills promptly with a lightly damp cloth, then dry the surface. Avoid abrasives, standing water and prolonged direct heat. Refresh the oil finish when the timber begins to look dry; seek professional care for deeper marks or repairs.
